Protein Discovery Inc. Presents Posters, Products, Prizes at HUPO World Congress

Knoxville, Tennessee, October 25, 2006—Protein Discovery, Inc., a provider of specialized mass spectrometry sample preparation products and services, will participate in HUPO, the 5th Annual World Congress of the Human Proteome Organization. The Congress will take place in Long Beach, California, from Saturday October 28th through Wednesday November 1st, and will be co-chaired by John Yates III, PhD, a member of Protein Discovery's Scientific Advisory Board.

Protein Discovery's staff scientists will present the poster "Rapid Parallel Preparation of Biological Samples for Quantitative MALDI Mass Spectrometry" on Monday October 30th, and "Improving Proteome Analysis using Cleavable Surfactants" on Wednesday, November 1st. Company representatives will be available at exhibit space 235 during the designated exhibit hours of the Congress to talk with attendees about mass spectrometry sample preparation strategies. Staffers will also accept prize drawing entries from attendees who sign up for Protein Discovery's new e-newsletter, "Sample Prep."

Three names will be drawn on Wednesday, November 1st, one hour prior to the close of exhibits, and each winner will receive an Apple iPod nano. "The prize drawings are a fun way for us to let scientists know we have new products to talk about, and that we're serious about providing better sample preparation methods for mass spectrometry," said Andrea Mravca, vice president of sales and marketing at Protein Discovery. "Mass spectrometry is the central analysis method of proteome research, and every proteome scientist is important to us." she added.
